Why Choose Us?
What is The Tuning School?
In the world of aftermarket performance modifications, more and more automobile enthusiasts need a good tune that they can rely on to maximize the thousands of dollars in aftermarket parts they have acquired. How can you know that your local tuner has the necessary training and ability to tune your vehicle to maximum performance without dire consequences?
The world of tuning used to be a dark, magical place where anyone with an ounce of tuning knowledge kept their secrets to themselves and beginners rolled the dice on actually learning how to tune. With The Tuning School, all that has changed!
At The Tuning School we teach you the basics and beyond of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems, including all the theory and mechanics in an easy to understand format. During the same class, we teach you how to tune with hands-on experience using the leading software and tuning products of the tuning industry.
We make it so easy that you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand our full two day school! Upon completion of the course, you will have gained hands-on tuning experience and will be ready to tackle your first tuning job.
You won't find this type of hands-on training in a beginner's class anywhere else! Forget what you've heard all these years that tuning is magical and a difficult concept to understand. You owe it to yourself to get the details, so find out more in our classes section.
Why Choose The Tuning School?
The performance racing industry is full of inaccurate information. The beginner tuner can search and search through masses of forum posts about tuning and never really know if the information they are reading is really accurate. Other sources such as articles and the very limited number of books written on EFI tuning take quite a while to get through to actually gain an understanding of how to tune. The time spent researching these sources does not benefit the limited amount of knowledge gained.
It's been proven that people learn better in an interactive environment, and that's where The Tuning School comes in. When you come to our classes, you will receive two full days of instruction and hands-on tuning experience like you will find no where else.
Our instructors have many years of engine building and tuning experience on not only their own vehicles, but countless numbers of customers' cars. The instructors have also written and edited several tuning manuals geared specifically for beginner tuners.
Lastly, The Tuning School wants to make sure you learn everything you need to know to tune vehicles properly the first time! Our manuals and checklists are easy to read and informative. We don't drop you from our lives after the first class, either.
Every participant receives free forum, email and phone support. And, if you feel you need to hear the class all over again, we will let you attend the same class for free when seating is available. At The Tuning School we are dedicated to teaching you what you need to know about tuning!
Meet the Instructors
Bob Morreale
Bob Morreale is the author of several tuning related books and manuals. He wrote his first book, BM Computer Source Guide to Chip Burning (1999), to guide first-time tuners through the turbocharged Buick Grand National software and tuning methods. His second book, Tuning the Right Way (2007), is a manual based on the HP Tuners software but also applies tuning knowledge to tuning of any EFI system.
Bob has over ten years of tuning experience, having successfully tuned everything from the legendary turbocharged 1987 Buick Grand Nationals to 1940s big-block supercharged Willys (using FAST EFI system) to modern day LS2 Corvettes boasting 680+ supercharged RWHP. Bob has also written numerous technical articles for industry-standard magazines.
He is well versed in airflow dynamics. His experience comes from his background in cylinder head porting and flowbench testing, as well as camshaft design and total engine power development.
Bob is an autocross and road-racing enthusiast and occasionally drag races.
Larry Neville
Larry Neville has over thirty five years of electronics and process controls experience. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida where he received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
One of his many notable accomplishments is the design of control system hardware and software which is used to trim rocket engine controls prior to launch. He spent many years working on development and design of instrumentation and process control systems used for the production of manmade fibers to the testing of rocket and jet engines.
His expertise is shared as a technical expert in control systems, which include automotive ECM/PCM systems.
In his free time, Larry enjoys drag-racing his 1987 Grand National.
Scott Seifreit
Scott Seifreit has over 900 hours of training in the electronics technology field and 20 years of experience in the IT field working for a major University in the Tampa area. One of his primary tasks at the University was software and technology training.
Scott's goal of becoming more involved in his first passion, motorsports, was realized when he joined Precision Motorsports of Florida in 2007 and was later asked to join The Tuning School team as an instructor.
Scott currently holds a National Competition License in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and has been road racing his 5.0 Mustang for the past 5 years.
Ian Thomson
Ian Thomson discovered an interest in tuning while working as an apprentice mechanic for Precision Motorsports of Florida. This interest was noticed by The Tuning School and Ian was hired and trained in the profession. He learned the concepts quickly and because of his ability to understand the concepts and mechanics behind tuning, he started developing The Tuning School's 6-Speed Automatic Tuning Guide. Ian owns a 2008 Corvette with a 6-speed automatic transmission which has allowed him to devote hundreds of hours of transmission tuning time. His knowledge in this area is some of the best in the tuning field.
Besides instructing, Ian is also employed by The Tuning School as our Technical Support Representative. Ian's education comes from Wyotech for Marine Mechanics. He also has over 400+ hours of flying single and multi-engine aircraft.
